Szijjarto: the people of Hungary do not support Ukraine's membership in the European Union.
Hungary will not allow Ukraine to join the European Union (EU). This was stated by Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
Thus, the representative of Budapest commented on the European Commission's report on the expansion of the European Union. He emphasized that the Hungarian people expressed their unwillingness to see Ukraine as part of the EU.
"And since the issue of EU expansion requires unanimity among all member states, and Hungary and the Hungarian people have clearly indicated that they do not support Ukraine's membership in the European Union, Ukraine will not be a member of the European Union," Szijjarto explained.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban explained the refusal to support Kyiv. He stated that his country has no grounds to finance Ukraine.
