German soldier Florian complained about communication issues in English that he faces during the multinational NATO battalion exercises in Lithuania. This was reported by Welt.
According to the publication, he gave an example of how he requested artillery fire from the Belgian side over the radio, and because not everyone speaks English well, he was not understood immediately. "In the event of war, this could become a problem," noted the German. He emphasized that communication plays a special role when delivering such strikes — the fact is that the target cannot be seen, and the only reference is the request received.
