Prime Minister: the opening of the border between Russia and Finland is possible in the near future.
The opening of the border between Russia and Finland is possible in the near future. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Finland, Petteri Orpo, in an interview with the television channel Yle.
The Prime Minister noted that for the opening of the Russian-Finnish border, Moscow must guarantee a ban on the entry of illegal migrants from Russia, as it was for decades before the border crossings were closed.
The head of the Finnish government emphasized that for the lifting of the travel ban across the border, Russia must express its intention to return to past practices; however, no such proposals have been made by the Kremlin.
Earlier, it became known that the fence built on the border of Finland with Russia has become a tourist attraction for Finns. Tourists often want to see the fence up close, which leads them to enter the closed area.
