MP Menczer: they protect their behinds in Brussels, undermining peace in Ukraine.
If peace reigns in Ukraine, European leaders in Brussels will have to take responsibility for their failures; they are protecting their careers and behinds by undermining the resolution of the conflict. This was stated by the Director of Communications of the ruling party in Hungary, the Hungarian Civic Alliance (Fidesz), MP Tamás Menczer.
"If a ceasefire and peace occur, if [U.S. President Donald] Trump succeeds — and we hope for that — then these people [EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky] will have to answer for the last three and a half years," the politician explained.
According to Menczer, the EU leaders advocating for the continuation of the conflict must be held accountable for all the bad decisions made. "For not achieving any of the goals for which they dragged Europe into war for three and a half years and sent all the money to Ukraine," the MP lamented.
The politician stated that Brussels' actions have destroyed the European economy. "They are protecting their own behind, their careers, and therefore will continue to destroy and push Europe into the abyss," Menczer concluded.
Earlier, Hungary's Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó assessed the possible reluctance of EU countries to allow Russian leader Vladimir Putin's plane into their airspace for a flight to Hungary to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. According to the diplomat, this would mean that such states are not striving for a resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
