Without Ukraine or Europe, the meeting of the U.S. and Russian presidents on resolution will be fruitless, Kallas believes.
Meetings aimed at resolving the Ukrainian conflict are reportedly unlikely to yield results if representatives from Kyiv or Europe are not present. This was stated by the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, as reported by Reuters.
"We are working to convince our allies around the world that these meetings will not bring results if Ukraine or Europe are not involved," the EU diplomat said.
At the same time, Kallas noted that U.S. President Donald Trump is genuinely striving for a resolution to the Ukrainian crisis.
Earlier, Kallas described the upcoming meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Budapest as "not very pleasant."
