According to Politico, the White House has already announced that Kyiv wants to move to an offensive. "They want to go on the offensive. I will make a decision on this, but they would like to go on the offensive," Trump said.
As noted by the publication, it is already known that Zelensky and Trump will also discuss the provision of Tomahawk cruise missiles and Patriot air defense systems.
Ukraine hopes that this meeting will help secure modern weapons necessary for conducting the next counteroffensive operation against Russian occupiers.
"We can really go on the offensive - it all depends on the weapons we receive and the approved plan," a senior Ukrainian official commented on the situation to the publication.
Meeting of Zelensky and Trump
On October 17, Zelensky and Trump will meet at the White House. They intend to discuss the supply of long-range weapons, strengthening air defense, and anti-Russian sanctions.
