On Friday, the White House is expecting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The President of the United States announced that he is currently on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I am currently speaking with President Putin. The conversation is ongoing, it is lengthy, and upon its conclusion, I, like President Putin, will inform you of its content. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Trump stated on his social media platform Truth.
On Friday, a meeting is expected at the White House between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Trump, during which the leaders of the two countries will discuss the supply of long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.
Earlier, Trump stated that before making a final decision on transferring these missiles to Ukraine, he would likely need to discuss it with the President of Russia.
The Kremlin emphasized that the use of these missiles by Ukraine "would mean a completely new, qualitatively new stage of escalation, including in relations between Russia and the USA."
