U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that he is extremely disappointed in Russian President Vladimir Putin, LETA reports citing DPA.
"I am very disappointed because Vladimir and I had a very good relationship. Perhaps it still is," Trump told reporters at the White House. "I don't understand why he continues this war," he added.
According to Trump, Putin simply does not want to end the war against Ukraine. "I think it makes him look very bad. He could end it. He could end it quickly," the U.S. president believes.
At the same time, Trump praised Ukraine's defense capabilities and confirmed that he would host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday.
"He wants weapons. He would like to receive 'Tomahawk' missiles," Trump said, speaking about Zelensky.
The U.S. president did not rule out the possibility of supplying 'Tomahawk' missiles to Ukraine, but he previously stated that he would like to discuss this issue with Russia.
The range of 'Tomahawk' missiles reaches 2,500 kilometers, and technically they can be equipped with nuclear warheads.
