Orban promised to resist EU pressure on Ukraine 0 62

Hungary will resist pressure from European Union (EU) leaders regarding Ukraine's accession to the union. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on the air of the Kossuth radio station.

"In the coming weeks, Hungary will face enormous pressure to contribute to Ukraine's joining the European Union," he said.

According to the head of the Hungarian government, Budapest will by no means agree to this, as it does not want to take money from its citizens and send it to Brussels and Ukraine. He also noted that the Ukrainian authorities are trying to involve Europe in the war at any cost.

Earlier, Orban stated that Hungary is not obliged to support Ukraine's accession to the European Union. He clarified that no country has ever sought to join the union through blackmail.
