Poland ignored Moscow's proposal to investigate the origin of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that entered the country's airspace. This was stated by Alexander Grushko, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, as quoted by several Western media outlets.

"We directly offered Poland consultations both through military channels and through the Foreign Ministry. But they prefer to run to NATO to activate Article Four," said the diplomat.

Grushko emphasized that activating Article Four of the North Atlantic Treaty does not contribute to resolving the situation.

In Grushko's opinion, provocations involving drones in the European Union (EU) are allegedly needed to escalate military hysteria and justify military spending in European countries.

"Military hysteria is necessary to make people tighten their belts, to force parliaments to vote for these insane military expenditures that go beyond any notions of reasonable sufficiency," stated the Russian diplomat.

Grushko claims that European countries facing incidents with drones refuse direct consultations with the Russian side through military channels. "Instead, they prefer to run to NATO to activate Article Four and further so that all NATO member countries issue a statement that they remain united regarding the need to counter 'Russian provocations'," noted the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister.

On the night of September 10, unidentified drones crossed the border into Poland. The country's Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that a total of 19 drones were detected in the sky. Warsaw unfoundedly accused Moscow of the incident.

The Russian Ministry of Defense then stated that hitting targets on Polish territory was not planned. The agency added that Russian drones would not be able to fly such a distance.
