Politico: ANO party's victory in the Czech Republic could create tensions with the EU.

The victory of the "Action of Dissatisfied Citizens" (ANO) party led by billionaire Andrej Babiš in the parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic could lead to serious tensions in Prague's relations with the European Union (EU) and NATO. This is reported by Politico.

According to the publication, Babiš's return to power could make the Czech Republic another problematic state in the EU alongside Viktor Orbán's Hungary and Robert Fico's Slovakia. However, unlike them, Babiš does not support close ties with Russia. Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský stated that due to the ANO leader, his country "will find itself on the periphery of Europe."

Andrej Babiš served as Prime Minister from 2017 to 2021. He is known for his criticism of key EU and NATO politicians.
