The Fight for Health and the Collapse of a Family: Sharon Stone Shared a Personal Story

Hollywood actress Sharon Stone recounted a dramatic episode from her life that marked the end of her second marriage. According to the star, it was her husband's reaction to the doctors' recommendations during a cancer examination that made her realize their relationship was over.

68-year-old Sharon Stone made an unexpected confession on the podcast The Person Who Believed in Me. The actress recalled events from the early 2000s when doctors discovered a large tumor in her breast.

According to Stone, the tumor was so large that it could already be seen externally.

"One of the tumors was bigger than my entire left breast," the actress said.

After examination, the doctors were seriously concerned about cancer and recommended radical treatment.

"The doctor came to my house and said, 'Listen, we think you should have a bilateral mastectomy. This is very serious. Usually, when tumors reach this stage, we suspect it’s cancer even before the operation,'" Stone recalls.

However, the reaction of her then-husband, journalist Phil Bronstein, was a real shock for her.

According to the actress, her husband sharply rejected the doctors' proposal.

"He said, 'That's ridiculous,' and walked out of the room," the star recounted.

Later, Bronstein continued to express outrage over the doctors' recommendations. Although it turned out that the tumor was benign and there was no need to remove her breast, the couple's relationship was already beyond repair.

"That was the end of the marriage. That’s when I realized it was all over," Stone admitted.

Two Marriages and a Long Path to Motherhood

Sharon Stone first married in 1984 to producer Michael Greenburg. This union lasted six years.

The actress's second husband was journalist Phil Bronstein. Their marriage lasted about five years. After the divorce, the former spouses cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation.

During their time together, Stone and Bronstein adopted a son, Roan. After the divorce, the boy remained living with his father.

The actress has repeatedly stated that she dreamed of becoming a mother. However, the path to this was not easy: over the years of trying to carry a child, she experienced nine miscarriages.

Later, Stone adopted two more boys — Laird Vonn and Quinn Kelly.
