Penélope Cruz admitted that she was afraid of dying during the filming of her new movie due to a serious diagnosis

Penélope Cruz first spoke about the serious diagnosis she received just before the filming of "The Black Ball" began. The actress admitted that while working on the film, she lived with constant fear due to the discovered brain aneurysm.

According to the 52-year-old star, she learned about her diagnosis shortly before the filming process began.

"I was told: 'You have a brain aneurysm.' I thought I was going to die any moment," the actress confessed during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival.

Cruz noted that she went through this period extremely hard, but the filming continued, and she decided not to refuse to work. The entire crew supported her, knowing about the actress's condition.

"Only my colleagues from the film knew all the details and incredibly supported me," Penélope said.

A brain aneurysm is considered a dangerous condition that can lead to a stroke and other serious complications.

This year, Cruz came to Cannes with the film "The Black Ball," which participated in the main competition program of the festival. The film's directors, Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, received the award for best direction.

Penélope Cruz is one of the most famous Spanish actresses in the world. She gained fame for films such as "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," "Vanilla Sky," "Cocaine," "Parallel Mothers," and "The Main Role," and she also became the first Spanish actress to win an Oscar.

Since 2010, the actress has been married to Javier Bardem. The couple has two children and lives in Spain.

Penélope Cruz admitted that the fear she experienced made her look at life and her profession differently. The actress emphasized the importance of support from loved ones and colleagues during difficult times and noted that she is not afraid to speak openly about health issues.
