One of the main problems with excessive caffeine consumption is its ability to cause dehydration in the body. Caffeine has a diuretic effect, meaning it increases fluid excretion through the kidneys. As a result, the body's cells lose water, disrupting their normal functioning. Dehydration negatively affects metabolic processes, slows tissue regeneration, and impairs the lymphatic system's function — an important component of immunity and detoxification.

The consumption of caffeine in large doses combined with energy drinks is particularly dangerous. These drinks often contain not only high levels of caffeine but also increased amounts of salts. Sodium promotes fluid retention in the body, exacerbating dehydration and placing additional strain on the heart and blood vessels. Consequently, the body experiences stress, and metabolic processes are further disrupted.

To maintain youthful skin and prevent premature aging, it is important to monitor hydration levels. Experts recommend compensating for each cup of coffee with one glass of pure water. This can help prevent fluid loss, maintain electrolyte balance, and stimulate lymphatic drainage.

Energy drinks should be avoided altogether or consumed very moderately. They contain high doses of caffeine and sugar or artificial sweeteners, which negatively impact cardiovascular health and metabolic processes. Regular consumption of energy drinks can lead to chronic dehydration, increased blood pressure, and even the development of dependencies.
