OpenAI Leadership Opposes Complete Replacement of Humans by Artificial Intelligence

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Chief Scientist Jakub Pahocsky stated that they do not consider total automation a desirable scenario for the future. In their opinion, artificial intelligence should enhance human capabilities rather than displace them from all areas of life.

The leadership of OpenAI has called for not striving for complete automation of the world through artificial intelligence. CEO Sam Altman and Chief Scientist Jakub Pahocsky emphasized that, despite the enormous potential of AI to enhance productivity, they are well aware of the risks associated with uncontrolled technological development.

"Complete automation of absolutely everything is not the future we want. It would be empty and dangerous," said OpenAI representatives.

According to them, artificial intelligence systems should remain safe and under human control. The company believes that as AI develops, the role of humans will not diminish; on the contrary, it will become even more significant.

Altman and Pahocsky are confident that key functions should remain with humans: setting goals and priorities, making decisions, finding compromises, as well as bringing values, responsibility, taste, and care for others into their work.

The OpenAI leaders noted that the main task of the company is to create technologies that serve the interests of all humanity. In their opinion, the development of artificial intelligence should not lead to a concentration of power in the hands of individual states, corporations, or a narrow circle of individuals.

"We believe that a safer future is one where power is widely distributed and as many people as possible can participate in shaping a sustainable ecosystem," they emphasized.

The statement came against the backdrop of growing discussions about the pace of artificial intelligence implementation. Earlier, one of the employees of Anthropic admitted that he was already struggling to adapt to the processes of automation and faced difficulties in controlling the errors made by AI.

Anthropic itself has also advocated for a more cautious approach to industry development. The company believes that the pace of creating new AI systems should be slowed down so that safety research and public institutions can adapt to rapidly changing technologies.

Despite the impressive capabilities of modern neural networks, leading AI developers increasingly emphasize that technologies should assist people, not replace them. According to the leadership of OpenAI, sustainable development of artificial intelligence is only possible by maintaining the key role of humans in decision-making and control over technologies.
