The game jersey of basketball player Michael Jordan, which he wore in the third game of the 1998 National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals, was sold at auction for $12.26 million. This was reported by the auction house Joopiter.

Initially, the lot was estimated to be worth $10–15 million. Before the auction ended, there was only one bid placed on it.

Jordan wore this jersey on June 7, 1998, while playing for the Chicago Bulls against the Utah Jazz. The Bulls won the game 96–54, and Jordan scored 24 points.

This season marked Jordan's sixth and final championship with the Chicago Bulls. He is the subject of the documentary series "The Last Dance."

Jordan is 63 years old. His last professional game was on April 16, 2003. After retiring from sports, he continued to develop the Jordan brand and became interested in motorsports.

The previous auction record also belonged to Jordan. In 2022, his jersey from the first game of the 1998 NBA Finals was sold for $10.1 million.
