Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže took shelter during a massive Russian airstrike on Kyiv on the night of August 5.
She shared this during a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga.
During the press conference, Braže expressed condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones during the massive Russian strike on Kyiv.
"We were also hiding in a bomb shelter here in Kyiv. This was not the first time and, unfortunately, not the last," she said.
Braže emphasized that although "the Russians can break windows, they can destroy buildings," they "will never be able to destroy Ukraine or its spirit."
"They are incapable of breaking the Ukrainians. And this is the most important conclusion to draw from this visit and all these discussions," the Latvian Foreign Minister stressed.
During her trip, Braže met with the Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa. "We discussed the possibilities for further support of Ukraine's right to self-defense," the Latvian minister reported.
