Silina demanded explanations and summons the head of the Ministry of Agriculture.
As previously reported, the commission established to review the government's two-year-old decision to support woodworking companies concluded that "the financial situation of the state-supported forestry enterprises was not unstable, and decisions were made without quality analysis." And now the head of government has just responded on social media to this conclusion made by the specially created commission.
"I have demanded that the Minister of Agriculture provide explanations regarding the conclusions made by the commission for the official review. The commission was established to assess the justification for supporting the forestry sector in Latvia. After receiving the explanations, the matter will be reviewed by the government to make a decision on further steps," wrote Evika Silina.
It should be noted that if it comes to the dismissal of Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze, it could seriously rock the governmental boat, as Krauze is one of the leaders of the coalition partner Union of Greens and Farmers.
