The fee for selling Christmas trees in areas designated by the municipality in Rēzekne is 2.85 euros per month, as stipulated in the mandatory regulations "On the Municipal Fee for Trade in Public Places and the Conduct of Entertainment Events."

The organization of tree sales in public places in Rēzekne is regulated in accordance with the mandatory municipal regulations. They stipulate that the trader must fill out an application, which must include the first name, last name, and personal code of the individual or the taxpayer registration code, the address or name of the legal entity and its registration code, legal address, and contact phone number. The proposed place, time, and duration of trade must also be selected.

The executive director of the municipality evaluates the application within five working days and makes a decision on issuing a permit or refusal, informing the applicant in writing.

If the decision is positive, the trader must pay the established municipal fee. For trading in specially designated municipal areas — at the addresses Maskavas Street 16, Atmodas Street 2, and Latgales Street 54 — the fee is 2.85 euros per month, while in other locations agreed upon with the municipality, it is four euros per day.

The municipality also reminds that several groups of residents are exempt from the fee for trading in public places: non-working pensioners, persons with first and second group disabilities, low-income and needy individuals, as well as traders registered with the State Revenue Service as patent fee payers.

The Rēzekne municipality urges traders to timely complete the necessary formalities and contribute to creating a Christmas atmosphere in the city, providing residents with the opportunity to purchase a festive tree closer to home.
