Everything had already been decided even before the budget was discussed in its final reading - the ruling party had previously agreed on which proposals from the deputies they would support. The ruling party concluded that they could vote for only a total of three opposition proposals to the 2026 budget project and for a couple of amendments from the opposition to the bills included in the budget package. Only today, after 11:30, did the deputies begin discussing the 2026 budget project itself. At the moment, in the 8th hour of the session, the deputies have managed to review only 90 amendments to the budget out of 290! Active debates are currently ongoing on the 91st proposal. But if the session continues at this pace, the deputies will not be able to vote on the budget as a whole by 21:00, and they will have to come to work again on Friday...
