French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot will organize a telephone conference with European colleagues on Friday evening to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
This was reported to Reuters by a source in French diplomatic circles.
The source noted that a telephone conference in the so-called Washington format will take place with the participation of the foreign ministers of Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, Finland, and Italy, as well as the head of European Union diplomacy.
In turn, the leaders of the North-Baltic Eight held a joint phone conversation on Friday, during which they discussed the new peace proposal from the United States to end the war in Ukraine.
After the negotiations, Siliņa wrote on X: “I just spoke with the leaders of the Baltic and Northern European countries about our support for Ukraine. In close cooperation, we continue to work towards achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.”
In her comment, Siliņa did not provide a clear assessment of Trump's plan.
Tikko ar pārējiem Baltijas un Ziemeļvalstu līderiem sazvanījos par atbalstu Ukrainai. Cieši koordinējoties, turpinām strādāt pie taisnīga un ilgstoša miera panākšanas Ukrainā.
