The power partners will exchange views on how they will further interact in an atmosphere of "complete distrust" towards each other.

On Monday, at the coalition council, the Prime Minister will meet for the first time with colleagues from the Union of Greens and Farmers after the "dramatic" Thursday, when the "green farmers" secured the passage of the opposition bill to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention with their votes.

Evika Silina will apparently try to find out if the "green farmers" are ready to work in her government and support the adoption of the 2026 budget in the first and second readings.

If the answer is positive, then the partners will discuss options for additional budget cuts at the coalition council.

A discussion is also expected regarding the decision of the Minister of Transport to refuse to write off the debts of the Ventspils Port Authority. It is clear that the head of the Ministry of Transport from the "Progressives" wanted to punish the "green farmers" for supporting the bill to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention. By the way, it cannot be ruled out that at the beginning of next week, the Prime Minister will "punish" the "green farmers" for their position on the convention by dismissing the head of the Ministry of Welfare.
