While the electoral commissions are still counting votes in some places, the composition of the deputies of the 15th Saeima is beginning to take shape, according to data from the Central Election Commission (CEC).
Currently, the vote counting has been completed at all polling stations in Kurzeme and Latgale, however, the summarization of the pros and cons is still ongoing at some stations.
In Kurzeme, out of 11 parliamentary mandates, six may be obtained by the "United List," from which the most support from voters has so far been garnered by Maris Kučinskis, Linda Matisone, Edgars Putra, Raivis Kalejs, Nellija Kleinberga, and Maris Dadzis.
One seat in Kurzeme is presumably obtained by the National Alliance, "Latvia First" (LP), "Sovereign Power"/"Young Latvians," "Progressives," and "New Unity." Among these lists, the leaders so far are Arturs Butans (National Alliance), Ramona Petravica (LP), Edgars Darznieks (SP/Young Latvians), Agnese Lace (Progressives), and Inga Berzina (New Unity).
In Latgale, out of 12 mandates, LP receives five, and from this list, the most votes so far are for Olga Petkevich, Alexander Bartashevich, Alexey Matskevich, Victoria Pleshkane, and Ekaterina Ivanova.
Three mandates in Latgale have been obtained by the "United List" (with the most votes for Juris Vilyums, Valdis Kotans, and Raimonds Vejonis) and SP/Young Latvians (most popular are Vyacheslav Stepanenko, Andrey Yakovlev, and Leontiy Moroz). The National Alliance is expected to receive one mandate from Latgale, with the most votes in this list currently for Rolands Keishs.
In Zemgale, votes have not yet been counted at one polling station, and it is expected that out of 13 mandates, six will be obtained by the "United List," from which the currently most popular among voters are Edgars Tavars, Andris Skrides, Inga Priede, Ilmars Luksts, Juris Lazdins, and Baiba Atmane.
LP and the National Alliance may each receive two seats in Zemgale, with the most votes so far in these lists for Edmunds Zivtins and Aivars Kraps from LP, and Janis Vitenbergs and Edvins Shnore from the National Alliance. Mandates from Zemgale may also be obtained by Atis Shvinka (Progressives), Edmunds Jurevics (New Unity), and Andrey Pagar (SP/Young Latvians).
In Vidzeme and Riga, votes are still to be counted at a larger number of polling stations, so the situation there may change more significantly. In Riga, the largest number of Saeima mandates is being distributed - 38.
After counting approximately 90% of the votes in the 15th Saeima elections, the "United List" is confidently winning, while the Union of Greens and Farmers (UGF) is unlikely to have overcome the 5% barrier.
Of the votes counted so far, 35.44% have been cast for the "United List." In second place with 13.22% of the votes is LP, followed by SP/Young Latvians with 11.73%. The National Alliance has received 9.09% of the counted votes so far, followed by the "Progressives" with 7.24% and "New Unity" with 6.18%. Currently, the first party below the 5% threshold is UGF with 4.62% of the votes.
With this distribution of power, the "United List" can expect 41 parliamentary seats, LP - 17 mandates, SP/Young Latvians - 15, the National Alliance - 11, the "Progressives" - nine, and "New Unity" - seven mandates.
