In Latgale, Vējonis, Vilūms, and Bartashevich Were Most Often Struck Off

In the Latgale electoral district for the 15th Saeima elections, the most strikes among candidates by Sunday morning were received by representatives of the "United List" (AS) Raimonds Vējonis and Juris Vilūms, as well as the candidate from the party "Latvia First" (LPV) Alexander Bartashevich. This is evidenced by preliminary data from the Central Election Commission (CEC).

Former President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis was struck off 1,363 times by voters, Vilūms 1,093 times, and Bartashevich 961 times.

At the same time, all three had significantly more "plus" votes than strikes. Vējonis received 1,812 "plus" votes, Vilūms 2,366, and Bartashevich 4,520.

It is particularly noteworthy that nine out of the ten most frequently struck-off candidates in Latgale represent the "United List". After Vējonis and Vilūms, Sandra Kinzule follows with 822 strikes, Āris Vucāns with 799, Līvija Plavinska with 782, and Ināra Groce with 773. Andris Bačuks was struck off 756 times, Oskars Zugickis 710 times, and Aleksandrs Narniņš 689 times.

For some candidates, personal markings significantly changed their position within the list. Kinzule received only 552 "plus" votes against 822 strikes and dropped from fourth to fifteenth place.

Despite a high number of strikes, Vilūms maintained the first position in the AS list, while Vējonis moved from second to third.

Bartashevich Received Over 4,500 "Plus" Votes

In the LPV list, Alexander Gusev follows Bartashevich in terms of strikes, having been struck off 677 times.

At the same time, Bartashevich ranks second within the list. He is surpassed by Olga Petkeviča, who received 5,273 "plus" votes with 544 strikes.

In the Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) list, Liga Kozlovska was struck off the most often — 412 times. At the same time, she received 413 "plus" votes and dropped from second to fifth place in the current candidate ranking. Andris Morozovs received 377 strikes, and Jānis Duklavs 371.

In the National Alliance (NA), Peteris Rozinskis was struck off the most — 365 times. He is followed by the list leader Edmunds Teirumnieks with 347 strikes and Rita Vāikule with 342.

In the combined list "Sovereign Power/Union of Young Latvians" (SV/AJ), Ernests Jurkāns received the most strikes — 212. Raimonds Rubiks was struck off 193 times, and Andrejs Šikors 185.

The leader of the party "We Change the Rules" Ainars Mielavs received 190 strikes and 183 "plus" votes. As a result, he dropped from first to seventh place.

In the "Progressives" list, the leader Leila Rasima was struck off the most — 160 times. However, she simultaneously received 486 "plus" votes and maintained the first position.

In the "New Unity" list, Anna Rancāne received the most strikes — 140.
