The state company Valsts nekustamie īpašumi (VNĪ) has put up for sale a historic hunting castle in Alūksne municipality. The buyer will receive a regional architectural monument along with a land plot of 1.35 hectares.
The state company Valsts nekustamie īpašumi (VNĪ) has announced an electronic auction for the sale of the property "Mežtekas" in the Jaunanna parish of Alūksne municipality. The main object of the lot is the hunting castle of the Jaunanna forest estate, which has the status of a regional architectural monument.
The starting price of the property is €77,400. The property includes a land plot of 1.35 hectares and two buildings, including the historic castle.
Bidding started on October 2 and will last until November 2, 2026, at 13:00. The auction is conducted electronically on a price-increasing basis, with a minimum bid increment of €500.

To participate, a security deposit of €7,740, which is 10% of the starting price, must be paid by October 22, and an application must be submitted through the state electronic auction system. The auction winner will need to fully pay for the purchase within two weeks after the auction ends.
The uniqueness of the property lies in its historical status. The hunting castle is listed in the State Register of Protected Cultural Monuments under number 2779, so the future owner will have to comply with the requirements for the preservation and use of the architectural monument.
Sales of such properties are rare, as the new owner receives not only a historic building but also the responsibilities for its preservation.
