Residents and guests of the Latvian coast are advised to exercise caution on Thursday. Meteorologists have issued a yellow warning due to strong northern and northwestern winds, with gusts that may reach 20–21 meters per second.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre has issued a yellow warning for the coastal areas of the country due to strong winds.
According to forecasts, in the first half of the day, gusts of northern and northwestern winds on the coast will reach 20–21 meters per second.
The warning will be in effect until 21:00.
Such gusts may hinder movement, especially near the sea, and increase the risk of falling branches and other unsecured objects. When planning trips or leisure activities on the coast, it is advisable to consider the weather conditions.
At the same time, a heavy rain warning remains in effect in central Latvia until noon.
Meteorologists recommend keeping an eye on current forecasts as weather conditions may change throughout the day.
