Drivers in Riga will have to detour another section: traffic on Dzirnavu Street will change until July 30 0 43

Until July 30, traffic will be closed on a section of Dzirnavu Street in the center of Riga before the intersection with Terbatas Street. The changes were announced by the Riga City Council.

The restrictions are being implemented for the construction of a bike lane and the reconstruction of the intersection.

During the works, traffic on Dzirnavu Street before the intersection with Terbatas Street will be closed. However, two-way traffic will be organized on the section between Terbatas and Brivibas Streets.

Changes will also affect Terbatas Street. In the direction of Elizabeth Street, traffic before the intersection with Dzirnavu Street will be closed, and additional restrictions will be introduced at the intersection itself.

Drivers should take these changes into account when planning routes through the city center, especially during peak hours.

According to the municipality, the goal of the works is to make the intersection safer and create a more convenient infrastructure for all road users, including cyclists and pedestrians.

During the repairs, the contractor must ensure access to residential buildings and businesses, maintain public transport movement, and allow unobstructed passage for emergency services.

After the completion of the works, traffic in this area is planned to be fully restored.
