After a rainy start to the week, the weather in Latvia will gradually improve; however, residents of Vidzeme should still prepare for precipitation on Tuesday. In the other regions, the rain will be brief, and during clearings, the air will warm up to summer values.
On Tuesday, the rainiest weather in Latvia will remain in Vidzeme, where precipitation will continue throughout the day in many areas.
In the other regions of the country, the rains will be less intense and will occur only locally. By evening, the influence of the current precipitation zone will weaken; however, late in the evening, a new rain front will begin to approach Kurzeme from the southwest.
Despite the cloudiness, the day promises to be quite warm. During periods when the sun will peek out, the air temperature will rise to +19…+24 degrees.
It will be cooler along the coast and in some areas of Northern Vidzeme, where the air will warm up only to +16…+18 degrees.
The wind will mainly be weak. In Vidzeme and Latgale, a moderate westerly wind is expected at times.
In Riga, a brief rain is possible in the first half of the day; however, then the clouds will decrease and sunny clearings will appear. The maximum air temperature in the capital will reach +23 degrees, although it will be slightly cooler near the sea.
What is important to know: during sunny periods, the level of ultraviolet radiation will remain high. Meteorologists recommend exercising the greatest caution when staying in the sun for long periods from 12:00 to 15:00.
The weather conditions in the region are currently determined by a cyclone that is moving from eastern Latvia towards Estonia. It is this cyclone that brings cloudiness and precipitation to the northeastern areas of the country.
Thus, Tuesday will be noticeably more pleasant for most residents of Latvia compared to Monday: there will be less rain, and the temperature in many places will approach summer values.
