The highest amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours in Latvia was recorded in the Livani region, where 65 millimeters of rain fell — more than 80% of the June norm. Heavy rainfall was also recorded in Daugavpils and several areas of Vidzeme.

In the last 24 hours, the highest amount of precipitation among state meteorological stations was recorded in Silos of the Livani region — 65 millimeters, which corresponds to 81% of the average monthly norm for June, according to data from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC).

The second highest amount of precipitation was registered in Daugavpils, where 50.7 millimeters of rain fell, or 68% of the monthly norm.

In Vidzeme, the heaviest rainfall was observed in Madona and Zosena. Since Monday evening, more than 30 millimeters of rain has fallen there.

On Tuesday morning, precipitation continues in many areas of the country. The most intense rains are noted in Northern Vidzeme. The sky over most of Latvia remains overcast, and in some places, mainly in Kurzeme, fog has formed.

A light wind persists over most of the country. According to meteorologists, air quality remains good or very good.

At five o'clock in the morning, the air temperature in Latvia ranged from +10.4 degrees in Rucava to +14.9 degrees in Alūksne. In Daugavgriva, the air warmed up to +15.5 degrees.

In Riga, the morning was cloudy. A north-west wind is blowing at a speed of two to six meters per second, and the air temperature is around +15 degrees.

The day before, the maximum air temperature in the country ranged from +18.1 degrees in Ventspils to +24 degrees in Ainaži.

In comparison, the highest air temperature in Europe on Monday reached +36...+37 degrees in Spain, Greece, and Cyprus, while in the Alps, temperatures dropped to -1 degree at night.
