At the beginning of this year, the most numerous age groups in Latvia were residents aged 38 and 39, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau.
At the beginning of the year, Latvia had a population of 1,845,096 people. Of these, 988,497 were women and 856,599 were men.
The largest number of residents, 29,498 people, were aged 38. Among them, there were 15,207 men and 14,291 women.
There were 29,348 residents aged 39, including 15,163 men and 14,185 women.
Another 28,453 people were aged 42, among them 14,786 men and 13,667 women.
The country also had 257 people aged 100 and older. Of these, 226 were women and 31 were men.
