The calendar summer in Latvia will begin with relatively warm and calm weather. Despite the predominance of clouds, the air temperature in many areas will rise above +20 degrees, and no significant precipitation is expected.

On Monday, June 1, cloudy weather with periodic clearings will prevail over most of Latvia. Brief rain showers are possible in some areas, but they will be of a local nature. Precipitation is most likely in Kurzeme.

The wind will remain weak. In most areas, a southern direction will prevail, while in Kurzeme, a westerly wind is expected in places.

In the afternoon, the air temperature will reach +17...+22 degrees. The warmest weather is expected away from the coast. It will be cooler by the sea. In some coastal areas, the temperature will remain around +15 degrees, which is due to the influence of cooler air over the Baltic Sea.

In Riga, the first day of June will be dry. Clouds will periodically disperse, allowing the sun to shine through. During the day, the air in the capital will warm up to +20...+21 degrees, and the weak southern wind will not cause significant discomfort.

What is important to know: despite the absence of heat, the level of ultraviolet radiation during sunny hours is already reaching high values. This is especially true from noon to three o'clock in the afternoon. Specialists recommend using sunscreen, wearing hats, and avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during this period.

Meteorologists also note that currently, weather processes over the region are not influenced by powerful cyclones or anticyclones. Therefore, no significant weather surprises are expected throughout the day.

Thus, the first day of the calendar summer will greet the residents of Latvia with relatively comfortable weather — without strong winds, heat, and prolonged rain.
