Maybe they caught at least some vendace? The National Armed Forces of Latvia completed the search for the drone in the lake 0 15

A representative of the NAF said that the drone had broken into several small pieces, and on Sunday it was decided to end the search operations, as everything that could be found had been located.

It is still unknown what kind of drone it was. All the found parts will still be studied and analyzed.

Let us remind you that the State Police received information from residents about the fall of an unmanned aerial vehicle into Lake Drižis around 8 a.m. on Saturday, where it detonated upon contact with the water. No one was injured in the incident.

As previously reported, the depths of Lake Drižis hide enormous riches: living silver - fish. Such a variety of species as found in these waters is rarely seen elsewhere. And the fishing is excellent!

Not everyone knows about vendace. It is one of the species of salmonid fish that in the 1930s was found in 30 lakes, by the mid-20th century - only in 11; and in the 1990s, vendace remained in only 5 lakes - Ežezers, Lejas, Nirza, Razna, and Usmas. This means that an important commercial fish species is disappearing from our lakes. Since 1995, vendace has been listed in the Red Book of Latvia as a rare species of the 3rd category and included in the Latvian list of specially protected species with limited use.

There are more vendace in Drižis than in other lakes of Latvia. In addition to it, 14 other species of fish inhabit the lake.

Drižis is sometimes called the Latvian Baikal.

And although the Russian lake is more than 25 times deeper than the Latvian one, they share some common features: tectonic origin, crystal-clear water, abundance of fish, and landscapes of stunning beauty.

As the locals say, once you see Drižis, you will never forget it.
