This weekend, weather conditions in Latvia will be determined by a cyclone, so strong winds and precipitation are expected, forecasters predict, writes LETA.
In the next 24 hours, the northern and northwestern winds will reach speeds of 12–17 meters per second in gusts, while Thursday will be mostly dry and sunny. The air temperature will not exceed +6..+11 degrees.
On Friday, cloud cover will increase, with rain expected in some areas, and the air will become one degree warmer.
On Saturday, according to current forecasts, rain is expected across the country, with possible thunderstorms and wet snow in some places, winds will strengthen, and the maximum air temperature will be +7..+14 degrees.
On Sunday, both at night and during the day, gusts of northern and northwestern winds are forecasted to reach 20–25 meters per second, with rain, snow, and hail expected in many areas. The air temperature on the last day of the week will not rise above +4..+9 degrees.
In the first half of next week, cool weather will persist. According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, the average air temperature next week will be three to four degrees below normal.
