The price flew over a bunch of radishes - Riga residents are shocked by market prices

"I went to the Vidzeme Night Market. I bought a bunch of radishes and a head of lettuce. Eight euros. EIGHT. I should have just gotten drunk," writes Aija.

In the comments, people share their experiences:

"I recently had a similar experience — a bunch of lettuce, a bunch of radishes, and a bunch of green onions — all for €11.20. I was shocked too, but I was embarrassed to admit that I wouldn’t buy it because it was too expensive for me. I paid and ate my very expensive salad," shares Linda.

"Once I bought two bunches of grapes at the central market — light and dark. €22.5!!!! I turned pale, looked at my friend, and silently paid because I was too ashamed to admit that it was too expensive. The funniest thing was that one of the bunches had a twig attached, just a piece of wood, I could have easily used it to light a fire," says Santa.

"Once at the Riga Central Market, I paid €8 for one pickled head of garlic, the same problem as you — I ran out of words," commented Cynthia.

"I completely understand you. Once in September, I left the market in Bulduri with broccoli, cauliflower, two small boxes of raspberries, and without €20," shares Lelde.

"Five apples and 4 grapefruits. At the Imanta market - €17. They’ve ripped us off," writes Juris.

"I took two yellow tomatoes from Getlini in the store. At the checkout - €5.50," another participant in the discussion laments.

"And cucumbers for €9?" asks Alina. - "That’s not even 4 liters of diesel!" replies a motorist.
