The night bus to Riga Airport will start operating next weekend — April 18, the company "Rīgas satiksme" informed the LETA agency.
To ensure trips to and from the airport at night, night services of bus route No. 22 on the route "Center — Airport" will be introduced starting April 18. At night, the bus will operate under the number N22.
Route N22 will depart from the "Stacijas laukums" stop on Marijas Street to Riga Airport and back to the city center. The bus will run daily at one-hour intervals.
On the section from the city center to the airport, the bus will follow route No. 22 and stop at the same stops. Stops will be made on demand.
The fare and benefits on this route will be the same as on other "Rīgas satiksme" routes. Passengers will also be able to purchase a ticket from the driver, paying with a bank card.
In connection with the introduction of route N22, changes will also be made to the schedule of bus No. 22. The last trip from Abrenes Street to the airport will depart at 23:30, and from the airport to Abrenes Street at 0:10. There will also be minor changes to the schedule of some trips on weekends.
The turnover of "Rīgas satiksme" last year, according to preliminary data, amounted to 53.622 million euros, which is 2.2% more than the previous year, and the company's profit increased several times to 10.474 million euros.
"Rīgas satiksme" provides passenger transport by buses, trams, and trolleybuses in Riga, as well as manages parking on city streets. The sole owner of the enterprise is the Riga City Council.
