This upcoming weekend, Latvia is expected to experience predominantly sunny, warm, and windy weather, with only rain possibly arriving from the west on Sunday, current weather forecasts indicate, according to LETA.
On Thursday, there will be a lot of clouds and occasional rain, while on Friday the clouds will mostly disperse and the southern wind will strengthen. The maximum air temperature will be +9 to +14 degrees, and on Thursday in Kurzeme and the northern coast of Vidzeme, temperatures above +4 to +8 degrees are not expected.
It is anticipated that on the night of Saturday, the air temperature in the country will not drop below zero, and during the day it will reach +12 to +17 degrees; however, gusts of southern and southeastern winds are expected to reach 11 to 16 meters per second.
On Sunday, rain clouds may reach Latvia, with the highest probability of precipitation in Kurzeme.
Although fairly heavy rains are possible in some areas on Sunday and early next week, a return of the anticyclone is expected later in March — precipitation will be rare and the sun will often shine. No sharp temperature changes are forecasted; on some nights, the thermometer will still drop below zero.
