The record heat of the first decade of March has been broken at four observation stations

The record maximum air temperature for the first decade of March was broken on Tuesday at four observation stations, reports the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

The highest air temperature was recorded in Mersrags, where the thermometer rose to +16.4 degrees. The last time it was this warm in Latvia was on October 11 of last year.

The heat record for the first decade of March was also broken in Ruiena, Skriveri, and Stende. In Kolka, the temperature record for March 10 was broken.

At 3 PM, the air temperature in Latvia ranged from +7 to +8 degrees in the ports of Liepaja, Ventspils, and Bauska to +15.1 degrees in Stende and +16.2 degrees in Mersrags.

On this day last year, the air temperature in Liepaja reached +17.4 degrees, which was the highest temperature ever recorded in Latvia in the first half of March.
