The political scientist is shocked by the level of cancer mortality in Latvia.
Political scientist and publicist Jurģis Liepnieks 'diagnosed' Latvian medicine on social media X:
"Healthcare in Latvia has reached some new low point.
Cancer mortality is 30-40% higher (!) than in other EU COUNTRIES, there are simply no modern medicines.
There are queues for everything. It is impossible to see specialists for any amount of money - you will still have to wait months in line.
In the development of the infrastructure of strategic hospitals, it is a complete disaster - they cannot finish the ongoing constructions, with cost increases of more than 100 million (referring to the construction of a new building for P. Stradiņš Hospital - editor's note).
Public health indicators, life expectancy, etc. are the worst in Europe."
This cannot continue.
