On Wednesday in Latvia, the eastern and northeastern wind will reach gusts of 9 to 14 meters per second, with gusts of up to 17 meters per second remaining along the Kurzeme coast in the Gulf of Riga, forecasters predict, according to LETA.
The wind will cause drifting snow in places, and snowfall will continue in the southern part of the country, with heavier and more intense snow expected in Latgale, Selia, and southern Zemgale.
The sky will be mostly cloudy, with the sunniest weather expected in northern Vidzeme. The maximum air temperature will be -5 to -7 degrees in Kurzeme and -7 to -11 degrees in the rest of Latvia.
In Riga, significant precipitation is not expected, and the sky will clear by evening. With a moderate northeast wind, the air temperature will be -8 degrees.
Weather conditions are influenced by an area of low pressure, while an anticyclone is beginning to strengthen in northern Europe. Atmospheric pressure at sea level ranges from 1005 to 1006 hPa in southern Latvia to 1011 hPa in Northern Vidzeme.
