Groups for free Latvian language courses for the first half of the year in Riga were filled on the very first day of applications, the LETA agency was informed by the external communications department of the Riga City Council.
Registration for the courses began on Monday, and on the very first day, all spots in the groups for the first half of the year were filled.
Currently, it is still possible to register for available spots in groups that will start their classes in the fall.

The Riga municipality has been organizing Latvian language courses for adult residents of Riga since 2011. During this time, thanks to co-financing from the Riga City Council, more than 16,300 residents of Riga have mastered the Latvian language at the basic level A and intermediate level B.
This year, free courses are being held in four educational institutions, and the municipality's funding amounts to 150,188 euros.
