Do you remember the tasty ‘Laima’ ‘Rīts’ candies? One social media user bought them but was surprised by the price of the candies. In the comments, many users also express dissatisfaction with the high price of the product and the change in taste compared to previous years.
“I couldn’t resist, I really wanted the legendary ‘Rīts’ candies. I took half a package – 2.09 euros. Two euros and nine cents! At home, I unpacked it – 8 candies. Eight!” writes Elmar on the ‘Threads’ website.
In the comments, several people also note the high prices of products from the manufacturer ‘Laima’. Vita says she no longer buys anything from ‘Laima’ because, in her opinion, the taste of the products has significantly deteriorated over time, while the prices have remained high.
Daria also comments on the high prices: “‘Laima’ will soon cost as much as caviar.” Kristiana joins in, saying that the prices are “absolutely unreal.”
Although food prices rise every year, buying 8 candies for more than 2 euros seems a bit excessive. A reasonable price increase is understandable. Madara recalls the previous price of ‘Laima’ candies: “I remember times when you could buy a kilogram for 2.80, and packaged bags for 0.79.
To be fair, if Elmar paid 2.09 euros for 8 candies, then each candy cost him about 26 cents. And besides, chocolate candies are currently sold everywhere with New Year discounts.
