Ice rain and slippery roads - Latvians are urged to be cautious.
Cloudy weather is expected on Saturday, with snow starting from midday in the western and central regions, according to forecasts from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Near the coastline, wet snow and rain are expected, with the possibility of ice rain. Meteorologists warn that the roads will be slippery.
The wind will be southeast, ranging from light to moderate.
The maximum air temperature in the west will be 0...+4 degrees, while in the east it will range from 0 to -2 degrees.
In Riga, it will be cloudy during the day, but without precipitation; only late in the evening will it start to snow in the capital. Streets and sidewalks may be slippery in places. A light to moderate southeast wind will blow, with a maximum air temperature of approximately 0 degrees.
