The average air temperature in Latvia during the first decade of December was +3.4 degrees, which is 3.6 degrees above normal, reports the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

The lowest air temperature was recorded on December 2 in Alūksne at -1.8 degrees, while the highest was +9.9 degrees in Riga on December 10.

Precipitation averaged 74% of the norm. The most precipitation fell in Sigulda - 25.8 millimeters, while Daugavpils received only 5.2 millimeters.

The average relative humidity in the first decade of December was 95% - ranging from 93% in Kolka to 99% in Alūksne. The strongest wind gusts, reaching 18.2 meters per second, were observed on December 8 in Ventspils.
