On Wednesday, by 1:00 PM, the highest air temperature in the country was +9.3 degrees in Pāvilosta, according to data from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC), reports LETA.
The previous temperature record for December 10 was recorded in 1964 in Kolka and was +8.9 degrees.
The record was broken not only in Pāvilosta but also in Liepāja, Rucava, and Ventspils.
Meteorologists predict that in the coming hours, temperature records for December 10 will be broken at other weather stations, and new records for December 11 are expected on the night of Thursday.
It was previously reported that on Tuesday, the maximum air temperature ranged from +6.2 degrees in Dagda to +9.4 degrees in Bauska. The heat record for December 9 was broken at seven weather stations.
