Due to weather conditions, passenger trains are delayed on several routes today, reports JSC "Pasažieru vilciens" (PV), operating under the brand "Vivi."
The train on the route Tukums II - Riga, which departed from Tukums station at 8:22 and was scheduled to arrive in Riga at 9:49, is delayed by about 20 minutes due to waiting for a passing train and weather conditions.
Passengers are advised to take the train from Majori to Riga, which departed from Majori at 9:40 and is expected to arrive in Riga at 10:15.
At the same time, the train that left Riga station at 9:10 and was supposed to arrive at Tukums II station at 10:38 was waiting for a passing train at the Priedaine station. The estimated delay is about 15 minutes.
Due to weather conditions, the train that departed from Riga station at 8:45 and was scheduled to arrive in Saulkrasti at 9:48 is also delayed by about 20 minutes. For the same reason, the Skulte-Riga train, which departed from Skulte at 9:07 and was supposed to arrive in Riga at 10:20, is delayed by about 10 minutes.
This morning, trains on the routes Sloka-Riga and Cesis-Riga were also delayed due to weather conditions and other reasons.
The Latvian Centre for Environment, Geology and Meteorology has issued an ice rain warning for the entire day. Ice will form on roads, streets, wires, tree branches, and other surfaces.
