November 18 in Riga: Will Transport Be Free?

Today in Riga, public transport will be free, and due to holiday events, traffic restrictions have been introduced, reported the LETA agency from "Rīgas satiksme".

Parking on streets managed by "Rīgas satiksme" will also be free.

On the holiday, an increased flow of people is expected in the city center, so larger capacity vehicles will operate on several routes. From 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM, additional trips will also be organized on certain routes.

During the parade, when the 11th November Promenade and the Stone Bridge will be closed, bus No. 22 towards Riga Airport will detour from the "13th January Street" stop, where it will turn around and proceed without stops along 13th January Street, Emīlija Benjamiņa Street, Lāčplēša Street, the Island Bridge, Mukusalas Street, Akmeņu Street, Valguma Street, and Uzvaras Boulevard. The bus will stop on Uzvaras Boulevard after the intersection with Valguma Street and will continue along its usual route.

At 6:00 PM, a torchlight procession will take place, during which the State Police will block traffic on certain sections, so delays in public transport and deviations from usual routes are possible.

On the Day of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, the "Rīgas satiksme" customer center in the "Origo" shopping center will operate from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the customer center in "Akropole Alfa" will operate from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Other customer centers will be closed.
