At the end of this week and the beginning of next, the air temperature in Latvia will drop slightly, with little precipitation expected, forecasters predict.
The sky will be mostly overcast, with the sun peeking out in some areas on Saturday. With a light southern and southwestern wind, fog will thicken in some regions, and drizzling rain is expected. The air temperature will fluctuate between +2 and +10 degrees.
Next week, rain is expected from time to time, but the total amount of precipitation will likely be insignificant. It was previously forecasted that a sharp drop in temperature might occur; however, the latest forecasts indicate that the average air temperature next week will remain several degrees above normal. On the warmest days, thermometers in Latvia may rise to +8...+12 degrees.
According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, on November 5 and 6, the average daily air temperature in the country was six degrees above normal, or the average temperature from 1991-2020 on these dates.
In the last 15 years, November in Latvia has only been cooler than the climatic norm of +2.2 degrees twice - in 2016 and 2023. The warmest November during this period was in 2020, when the average air temperature reached +5.5 degrees.
