In the Latvian segment of the social network Threads, people are actively discussing the appearance of one of the Estonian politicians, Riigikogu member from the EKRE party Rain Eppler — the reason for the heated discussion was his unconventional hairstyle, which caused a wide resonance and numerous comments from users.
By the way, back in 2024, the American publication Politico named Eppler the owner of the "worst hairstyle," stating that Donald Trump and Boris Johnson had gained a competitor.
A post with a photo and an ironic remark about the official's "indifference" quickly gained popularity, after which dozens of users joined the discussion.
Some compare the hairstyle to the result of a "home haircut," joke about childhood experiments with scissors, and call the look a "unique style," while others perceive it as a conscious way to attract attention.
"It seems so simple — you go to the barber, and the whole world is talking about you."
The author of the post noted in response to comments that it is indeed about "indifference," not a carefully thought-out image, adding that the discussion should not be taken too seriously.
"When mom cuts hair using a bowl. But there was no bowl at home — had to use a shoebox."
More ironic comparisons also appeared in the discussions — from "futuristic style" to jokes about possible inspirations from video games and music contests.
"He looks like a guy whose 'witty' performance at Eurovision will either make it to the top 10 or end up last in the semifinals."
The discussion also mentioned his wife and her appearances at official events.
The politician with the unusual hairstyle seems quite pleased with it and also enjoys joking, recently stating in jest that he wants to see his face on the wrappers of liqueur candies for adults.
"I went into a store and looked at the box of Kalevi Mayuspala candies on the shelf. Good candies, inspiring! I designed a new lid for the box in case Orkla gets the idea to make a liqueur treat for adults," the politician wrote.
In 2024, Rain Eppler topped the ranking of "politicians with the worst hairstyle," compiled by the American publication Politico. The hairstyle of the Estonian MP, a former government minister from the Estonian party EKRE, was so terrible that he managed to surpass the recognized owners of extravagant hairstyles — Donald Trump and Boris Johnson, known, in particular, for their strange hairstyles.
The Barber - A Refugee Seeking Revenge
The publication believes that Eppler's hairstyle looks like a helmet.
"Eppler clearly couldn't decide what haircut he wanted, so he asked for them all. He looks like he’s wearing a helmet, ready for battle, or perhaps, since Eppler and his party are far-right, his barber is a refugee seeking revenge," Politico wrote in 2024.
