The 67-year-old singer is actively engaged in creative activities.
Ukrainian singer Aurika Rotaru, who is the sister of Sofia Rotaru, spoke about her plans to meet with relatives.
In a new interview for BLIK.ua, the artist noted that her concert in Chernivtsi might take place in May. It is there that she hopes to meet with her two brothers and sister Lydia, who live nearby.
"We haven’t seen each other for a long time. I hope to have a concert in Chernivtsi on May 16. That’s when we will see each other with my brothers and sister," emphasized Rotaru.
By the way, Aurika has previously spoken about Sofia. She noted that despite rumors that the artist is abroad, her sister remains in Ukraine during the full-scale war. Now Rotaru succinctly stated that "nothing has changed."
Recall that Sofia Mikhailovna has not appeared in public or performed on stage since 2022. The performer also does not speak about the full-scale invasion, but occasionally publishes footage of the destruction after enemy attacks and adds words of sympathy. Regarding her sister's position, Aurika said:
"I think that each person will tell about themselves if they want to. Whatever they want. She is also worried about all of us, about our guys, about our Ukraine. She has a fund that helps our guys. She is with us."
Aurika Rotaru was born on October 22, 1958, in the village of Marshyntsi in the Novoselytsia district of Chernivtsi region. In the Rotaru family, they spoke Romanian (Moldovan). She graduated from a rural school in the same language of instruction.
In 1980, she graduated from the Chernivtsi Music College named after Vorobkevich, conducting and choral department.
In 1985, she graduated from the Odesa Pedagogical Institute named after K. D. Ushynsky.

She continued her creative activity in the Vinnytsia, and then in the Crimea Philharmonic. She toured with her sister Sofia Rotaru. She participated in festivals: "Crimean Dawn" (Yalta), "Kyiv Spring" (Kyiv), "White Nights" (Saint Petersburg), "Wider Circle," "Song of the Year" (Moscow, Kyiv).
