Excessive consumption of apples can lead to gastrointestinal problems.
Nutritionist Lauren Manaker discussed the consequences that can arise from overindulging in apples in an interview with Delish.
According to the nutritionist, excessive consumption of apples can lead to discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract (GI) for people with irritable bowel syndrome and sensitive stomachs. Additionally, these fruits contain a lot of fiber and sugar, so overindulging in them can cause digestive issues even in healthy individuals.
The specialist added that apples must be washed under running water. She explained that eating unwashed apples can lead to the ingestion of pesticides.
At the same time, Manaker noted that one apple a day can benefit the body, as this product contains many vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber. "Since most people do not consume the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables daily, developing the habit of eating an apple a day can be beneficial," she emphasized.
